Fun, Witty and Pretty

Funny, Witty and Pretty

Howdy!  I’m Christina Marie DeLong.  I am from the “bipolar weather state of Texas”!  Where Mother Nature cannot help but, bless you with winter for breakfast and summer for lunch, you learn to adapt.  I was naturally born in a hospital, in Bryan, Texas. As if my life could not be any greater, my not so smart parents decide to multiply at an alarming rate.  Not only one, but even more hard head tiny little mouths to feed. You guessed it! I am far from being soiled, and I hate sharing! Being the youngest girl out of eight children did come with definite perks. Like learning from my sisters and brothers mistakes, having a gang of personal Uber drivers at your doorstep, figuring out tricks to doing your chores the fastest, and bodyguards for when little boys like Tommy break your heart.

I am interested in a lot of things. First one is serving the Lord on Sunday’s, bible study and church revivals. I simply love me some baby Jesus!  I enjoy spending quality time with my dad which includes hunting trips where I get to “shoot them bang bang” and take home part of Bambi's family. I also enjoy four wheeling, horseback riding, football, basketball, super bowl weekend, and SHOPPING!  I love to cook anything from smothered pork chops to your grandmother’s smack your lips tatters. You know! The ones that leave you drooling while sitting fat and full. Yeppers those tatters!

With my passion for helping others and determination for success, my future will shine brightly. To achieve my love, I choose to go back to school to further my education in Medical Trauma Services. Which includes abstracting medical data to strength Trauma Patient Safety, Injury Prevention, and Community Outreach Programs. After graduation, I’ve already considered an infinitude of ways in which I will accomplish my doctorate in Physical Therapy. Ultimately, by volunteering in Physical Therapy clinics, exploring Residency and Fellowship, building a brand name, and signing up for no life at all for the next seven years.  I hope this is just the beginning of many new adventures I will face.

I hope all my past doubters, underachievers, and nonbelievers are present during my skip across the stage on graduation day. In the audience, I hope to look out and see work mentors, college professors, trusted friends, best friends, supporters, and a sign from my mother in heaven cheering in the stands.

I would not be who I am today without the support of my family, friends, coworkers, and God.

  2. I love the weather and taters bits. That's good southern-voiced writing right there. You should read Larry McMurtry. He's one of our Texas writers that has a "regional" voice that shines bright on the page.
