Exam number one Testimony

My first exam experience besides the sweaty palms and oh God do I know the information moments; I thought didn't go so well. Personally, I hadn't taken an exam in more than ten years and oh boy have the exam days changed. In my mind, when I read the instructions for question number one, my mind went blank, and I started to second guess every answer that popped into my head. I would call it test jitters at its finest.

What can I say, I expected it to ask questions that I did not quite know the answers too and it lived up to my expectations and much more. In preparation for exam one, I skimmed over my notes, ate a healthy breakfast and only slept three hours. Now I certainly would not classify those as valid methods, but eating breakfast did help me stay awake during the exam. And going over my notes in the hallway before class helped some information stick in my brain.

My approach towards exam two will strikingly differ from review one, whether it's taking off work the evening before the exam or getting a restful nights sleep to function on exam day. I believe creating flashcards then letting Betty Sue test my knowledge, and definitions will also help me going into the next exam.  Most importantly I will study, practice, then study, and practice some more until I know all the material.

The easiest part of the exam for me was when you had to define the word in your own words. I found to be the easiest, or at least on the ones I knew were correct.  One of the difficult areas on the exam was filing in the missing blanks. My mind was already empty and filling in the answers to a question that had multiple blanks was not helpful at all in answering.  If given the opportunity, I would suggest the young cub's pace them selfs, carefully read before writing or responding and have someone in the class quiz you before class starts.

My method of relaxing before exam day would be to pray and drink lots of wine. Afterwards, I would head to work and forget about the test. Stressing over if you passed or what answers were wrong vs. correct will not change your grade. Make it a learning opportunity and show your growth on the next exam.

  1. I should have gone over my notes, but I honestly thought there was not going to be a lot of questions from out notes. The vocabulary was also the easiest part for me because that is what I studied the most.

  2. I do not discriminate Mr. Still, I prefer red and white wine. I do indulege in Albarino wine with Goat cheese, but also enjoy Chardonnay paired with Chicken. My absolut faviorte is Petite Sirah with dark choloctete, you can say that I am hooked like a catfish on Ugly Stilk reel. My palate over here doing the holly dance!

  4. The filling in the blank was a little confusing to me. But I like your method of relaxing. Praying and wine that is a very good key to relax your mind after a test.
